I needed a laptop for work, working seamlessly with Linux, and it fits those requirements. If I didn't need to satisfy both of these points, then I probably wouldn't prefer this model.
Pretty good functionality in Linux, typical for the Thinkpad series - in Ubuntu 23.10 everything was working straight from the installation except for switching the audio output and the fingerprint reader (not that the system can't work with it, but fprintd/libfprint is simply a tragic piece of software that can't correctly compare fingerprints with the stored ones). I think other distributions with newer kernel will be similar.
WUXGA resolution, i.e. 1200 px portrait instead of 1080 px as with Full HD. More vertical space is good for work.
Good keyboard plus typical trackpad with three buttons and a small trackpoint in the middle.
Classic Thinkpad look, but with an all-metal construction that's slightly better than plastic.
Absolutely silent during normal work.
Fast charging, which at least somewhat compensates for the small battery capacity.
In addition to the two USB-C ports, it has two USB-A ports, plus an RJ-45 interface.
Increased resistance.
Carefree service included.
Low battery capacity.
Low display resolution for today.
All-metal construction - although it is better than plastic, as I mention in the pros, but with a design like e.g. there's no comparison with the Mac. It gives a slightly tinny impression and is a fingerprint magnet.
I miss a bit the memory card reader that my previous Thinkpad had, but I don't need it that often, and when I do need it, an external reader solves it.
