I thought I' d buy a cheap kettle at the cottage and try the Alza brand instead of the German quality I usually buy, it was a mistake. After unpacking and wiping the kettle, it started to smell very unpleasant and chemical. According to the instructions, I brought 3.4L of water to a boil, and every time after pouring out the steam, it smelled the same. I don' t know what they use to make it in China, but this has never happened to me. The lid of the kettle is also not insulated in any way, so if you have just boiled water and want to refill it and boil again, you have to burn yourself when closing the lid (the plastic part of the lid is also boiling). Plus the lid doesn' t seal well and the whole system looks like it was designed by an average SPD selector. If you pour water for your tea and open the lid to add more water to the kettle, the boiling water left on the lid will spill onto the body of the kettle and onto your hand. I don' t know if I' m spoiled by German brands, but I will never do these experiments with the Alza brand again. I' ll stick with BOSCH, there at least one person thought for a moment when designing the kettle.
