I have been using the device to my full satisfaction for many months without any problems. Compared to another older meter, I rate the ST26 positively for its display with large numbers that can be read even from a distance. Although current, frequency and power factor data are missing, which are usually found in more expensive and complex models, but these variables are of little importance for normal use. Besides, I can measure current and frequency well with another device - my digital multimeter, which again lacks power measurement.
Although the measurement of the price for the energy consumed is indicated in euros on the display, if you set the unit price (per 1 kWh) in crowns, ignore the € figure and imagine CZK instead, you will of course also get the resulting price in crowns. The Solight DT26 meter does not contain a power cell to ensure that the measured consumption values are maintained even if the power is lost in the socket or if the meter is disconnected from the socket. This is a disadvantage, but after a bad experience with the other meter mentioned above, it can be an advantage. The button cell will discharge after a while, the value retention will stop working during a failure. Electrolyte can leak out of the cell and damage the contacts. All this happened to me. After the failure of the cell, my older meter stopped working completely and so the new device is important to me for its simplicity and hopefully higher reliability.
Compared to the older meter, the ST26 seems to have a better evaluation of power and consumption in special situations. I measure the power consumption of a combination of different devices (computer, monitor, active speakers, external sound card, LED lighting, uncompensated power supply with classic transformer, etc. ). Switching power supplies and inductive consumption with lower power factor in the older meter caused curious situations, when e.g. when connecting another appliance, the total power consumption dropped slightly. This is not the case with ST 26, the sum of the power consumption of the individual devices measured separately corresponds to the total power consumption of the group.
