This is my first digital non-contact thermometer. There is less variation in the measurements, so it is better to measure several times, but the speed is an absolute advantage especially with smaller children who are difficult to keep still for a while.

The measured temperature absolutely does not correspond to reality ( even if the instructions are followed). We bought it on the spur of the moment because of the baby's illness and when the thermometer showed 37.8°C all night long and after using a conventional thermometer it came out 39.9°C, I felt like throwing the device out of the window.

I bought the thermometer based on the reviews and that it was a newer model of the same brand thermometer I wanted to buy. I also bought it because I wanted to replace the older one with a newer and hopefully more accurate type. it's possible this was just a defective piece. With a mercury thermometer my son had 39,6 this thermometer shows red and 37,7... just higher temperature he was not able to measure. Normal yes, but that's not what you buy it for. We measured with four thermometers for 2 days and this one simply lowered the temperature by 1 to 2 degrees whether you measured in baby mode or adult mode. I cannot recommend it for me. It's possible we have the wrong piece, that's why I'm returning it.
