It works, both perceptually and demonstrably (hygrometer measurements of the weather station). It leaves white traces of calcium salts only in the immediate vicinity.
ETA is still a decent company in the price/performance/quality ratio.
Refilling the container is not entirely practical.
It is better to stand at least one metre above the ground and use some kind of base container (the condensed water drips from the container when removing and refilling the tank).
