Can't be powered from the usb in the TV though older models worked that way and it just has a charm and effect when you hide it behind the TV. Unfortunately it is necessary to run the cable to 230 V from the socket which is not possible in my case so I had to return the product and stay with Chromecast 3 which works like that.
