Green almonds, happy walnut or smiling walnut. These are all names for pistachios, which are popular all over the world for their typical taste. Originally, together with macadamia nuts, they were considered one of the most expensive ever, but in the early 1980s they became more widespread thanks to massive imports from Iran, which allowed them to be sold at affordable prices. And so they became a fixture in kitchens around the world. But pistachios are not only popular for their taste and wide range of uses. They contain a number of beneficial substances that are necessary for the proper functioning of our human body.
Pistachios contain a wide range of healthy fats as well as minerals, such as potassium, phosphorus, calcium, zinc, selenium and all essential amino acids. One cup of these nuts will supply your body with up to 44% of the daily dose of copper needed for healthy bones, red blood cell and collagen production, as well as 20% of the recommended daily dose of phosphorus and 15% of manganese. They consist of 55% oil, 20% protein and 15% sugars. Thanks to this, it is one of the exceptionally high-quality and valuable foods that we should definitely not neglect in our diet.
People most often enjoy pistachios just as a healthy snack or as a substitute for fried chips. But they will also find wide use in your kitchen. You can add them to baked desserts, chocolate pralines, ale výborně si rozumí i s hotovými pokrmy. They are also often used as an ingredient in meat dishes. For example, they are an essential part of the Italian mortadella.
Nature gives us fruits that make our lives tastier. We respect her and therefore we do not want to burden her unnecessarily. We will therefore supply you with pistachios in ecological packaging, which you can reuse thanks to their resealable design.
