A switch is a functional network element connecting individual devices or other network elements. It is suitable for controlling network traffic. The D-LINK DGS-1250-52XMP is supposed to be placed in a rack. This model has a switching capacity of 176 Gb/s. The Switch is equipped with 48 × RJ-45 ports that facilitate connection with network elements. 4 SFP connectors are there to transport data via optical fibers. 10/100Base-T technology allows file transfer with a speed of up to 100 Mbit/s. 10/100/1000Base-T technology facilitates file transfer with a speed of up to 1000 Mbit/s. It uses Dual Personality ports, remarkable for including both the RJ-45 and SFP connector ; however, only one can be used at a time. The switch dimensions are 440 × 430 × 44mm. QoS aka Quality of Service technology ensures the switch stays within its capacity, and it also enables you to set up end station priority. The D-Link device includes PoE technology that provides power and signal connection to end devices with just one LAN cable. The switch weighs 3850g.
