Connected to a Macbook Air 15" year 2023 (i.e. to the Thunderbold 3/USB-C connector) and works beautifully on a 4k (3840x2160px) external display at 60Hz. The frequency is extremely important. Some reducers only support 30Hz, and you can't work at that if you're marking text with the mouse or doing other "positionally precise" work like programming. Always insist on 60Hz or more.
