Xenon bulbs are twice as efficient as halogen bulbs. They create a wide beam of light that sharply illuminates the entire area in front of the car and its more precise focus does not blind the drivers of the oncoming cars. Unfortunately, they are not compatible with conventional halogen headlamps and their replacement must be generally performed by an authorised service centre.

Basic parameters of xenon headlamps
Luminous flux - light output (how much light the bulb produces), measured in lumens (lm). It is equivalent to watts (W) relative to the average sensitivity of the human eye.
Colour temperature - colour temperature (or chromaticity) characterises the white light spectrum (kelvin - K). Depending on the value, we perceive light as "warm white" (about 3000K) to "cool white" (6000K).
Lifespan - professional xenon bulbs have a lifespan of 2400 to 3000 hours, which is approximately 5-8 times more than classic halogen lamps. However, there are special models that boast a lifespan of 10 years.
What colour temperature should I choose?
4000K - white neutral light typical for all original xenon lamps. Provides excellent visibility in all weather conditions.
5000K - cold white light. Provides excellent night visibility and attractively complements the car exterior.
5500K - aggressive light tone with a subtle bluish tint. Suitable for design and tuning enthusiasts. Compared to neutral 4000K white, 5500K creates high contrast and tends to distort colours at night.
Some countries regulate headlamp colour temperature by law. The white light spectrum is allowed everywhere (often with a slight blue tinge), but dark blue or otherwise coloured headlamps may be banned for normal motorists and often do not provide enough light to illuminate the road properly.
What do B3 and Tc mean in connection with the service life of bulbs?
B3 - indicates the time at which 3% (3 out of 100) of the tested bulbs have failed.
Tc - indicates the time at which 63% (63 out of 100) of the bulbs have failed.
What else should I know before buying a xenon headlamp?
When choosing a light bulb, make sure its socket model matches the one in your car exactly. You can find this information in the user manual for your vehicle.
Xenon lightbulbs cannot be simply swapped in to replace conventional halogen bulbs.
Alza sells only certified lamps from verified manufacturers that are legal and safe to use. This is the reason why you will not find any fancy blue headlamps in our product selection, as they are not considered safe and even violate the law in some countries.
