It works as it should and I recommend reading the manual, maybe then some would not give a bad rating. The smell and slight smoke stopped right after the first use as i states in the instructions. 5 stars for me, easy to wipe down even hot plates with a soft cloth and you don't have to scrub anything. It eats almost nothing, and you have 2 lids ready in no time. Well, he's not expensive either. Satisfied
